Edited by Johan on 9/10/2023, 14:08:58 Im happy to see this one return and used by the Queen. It looks more fitting for her. Unfortunately the stage is a little small to have other members of the family (crown princess and hereditary princess + future spouse) attend.
So it was the old parliamentary throne for the king Carl Johan and Oscar.
The throne Haakon VII, Olav V and Harald V use is the throne once made for the throne room of the Royal Palace of Oslo. The second palace throne stands in the council room.Previous Message

Am i correct in thinking that we saw queen Sonja seated in a throne she had never used before during the opening of the Norwegian parliament?
Is it a new throne made for her, or has an older throne been chosen to function as the consort's throne instead of just seating her on a chair that was originally made for a prince?
If you go to Trond Norén Isaksen’s FB page you will get the details.
