Considering the attitude of the English people towards European cooperation, it is a bit ironic that they reached the final due to a Danish goal and a Dutch decision that as-good-as secured the second goal.
Well that's football. Sometimes you need luck as well as skill to win and as an Englishman I'm delighted. As for Brexit that was a very sad chapter in our history . I was very saddened by it. But I do know lots of English people who love Europe and voted for Brexit as they just didn't want to be in a political Union when the original referendum was to join an Economic Union. I don't think not being in a political Union makes the UK any less European - just as Norwegians aren't any less European than Swedes or the Swiss less European than the Austrians. But Brexit is best forgotten Previous Message
"am a tyke from Ridings who loved laking football as a bairn"
Bit of Yorkshire dialect that shows the influence our Danish ancestors who settled in Yorkshire had on the way we speak.
Prince William may be there this evening and am sure the Queens of England and Denmark will be watching on TV
