The author paints a negative picture of Charles Edward's relationship with his children. Was the young Carl Gustaf close to his German grandfather (he was 8 when his grandfather died). The book states Sibylia was very close to her brother Hubertus, who was killed in action in 1943, and was homosexual. Carl Gustaf has Hubertus as a Christian name. Sibylia's sister Caroline Mathilde was estranged from her father, had a complicated love life and spent time in prison according to the book. She also made serious claims against her father according to the book. Did Sybilia have a relationship with her after moving to Sweden?
