Re: King of Sweden addressed the nation
As I said, I'm looking for things to do, so found this snippet on Queen Elizabeth II's broadcast.
"The video message was recorded by a lone cameraman, who was dressed from head to toe in the same personal protective equipment worn by doctors and nurses treating infected patients."
This came from "The Mirror". Don't know how reliable they are, but others will have a better idea on that.
Here's a thought. Maybe they wanted to limit the number of crew needed to do the filming because of the virus. Here's something I found about that. (Many of us are in mandatory lockdown and are trying to keep busy!)
"In major productions or broadcasts, the teleprompter is normally operated by a crew member, who adjusts the format, scrolling speed, and direction of the text as it appears on the teleprompter screen and ensures a comfortable pace to make it easy for the presenter to read the script seamlessly. The operator has to pay attention to what the presenter is saying so they can follow the latter’s pacing instead of forcing them to speak at a speed that they are not comfortable with. If there is no operator during the shoot, the presenter can use a wireless controller or a foot pedal to control the scrolling speed."
(Maybe the King didn't want to operate the foot pedal himself, so decided against the extra person on set.)
It seems to me that it could be more impressing and personal if they would have used a teleprompter, instead of reading from paper.
Thank you for posting this. I don't think it is often that those of us who don't speak Swedish get English subtitles. 🙂 Well done speech by HM.
