Re: Norway’s version of “The Crown” is underway
I agree on both counts, Catherine.
Are the eight books one 8-volume biography, or are they stand alone books dealing with different aspect of the the King's life and reign?
I hope there will be a version with English subtitles. I wish the books would be translated into other languages as well -- would love to read them.
The starting point for the series will be the eight books that historian Tor Bomann-Larsen has written about King Haakon and Queen Maud.
Seven of these books have already been published, while the eighth is still in progress.
Nordic Film confirms that all eight books form the basis for the script they are now writing. Tor Bomann-Larsen has spent twenty years writing the biographies of King Haakon.

* I like to add that those books are truly fabulous and I don't know of any present-day royal author who comes even close to the way Tor Bomann - Larsen researches his books and presents them.! Very impressive and highly recommended to anyone who reads/understands Norwegian
That said I am a tadd sceptical about the way this new series will come across. Afraid it will be 'redesigned' into something popular and 'easy to understand for a broad audience'.
