That still does not explain why construction work that goes on in front of her residence is the reason why she cannot hold her annual speech from her office in that residence. I very much doubt by the time she is delivering her speech actual work goes on.
The New Year's Banquet at 1. Januar 2019 will be at Christian VII's Palæ as usual. It is not the Queen's residence palais but the representation mansion, which is opposite from the construction work.
Does that mean that the New Year's banquet will also be at Fredensborg?
I understand that there is work in the square but HM would be inside her palace so why have they moved the location?
Every year, The Queen delivers the New Year’s address on 31 December at 18.00, when the address is broadcast live on TV, radio and the Internet. Traditionally, the New Year’s address is given from The Queen’s reception room in Christian IX's Palace at Amalienborg.
This year, The Queen delivers the New Year’s address from Fredensborg Palace, where Her Majesty has residence as a result of the renovation of a large underground drainage installation at Amalienborg Palace Square by Amaliehaven.
