Earlier this year Queen Maxima of the Netherlands loaned some of her dresses by Jan Taminiau to a museum, but one was taken out of the display for a couple of days as she opted to wear that dress in Copenhagen for the 50th birthday banquet of crownprince Frederik.
A few years before Queen Beatrix had just loaned the Dutch Royal traincarriage to a museum when an Icelandic vulcano made airtravel impossible resulting in the train being taken out of the exhibition to transport HM, the Grandducal couple of Luxembourg and the Prince of Orange and his wife to another Royal event in Denmark...
It's only to be expected that the royal ladies need their family orders for the state visit. However, one wonders why the Queen finds it necessary - again - to wear a tiara and necklace from the exhibition when she has many other jewels at her disposal. She did the same for Crown Prince Frederik's birthday. Guests at the museum will be disappointed to find more or less empty exhibition cases.
