Re: Tiara question
It was more of a practice rather than a rule. Young women other than princesses tended to wear their family tiara on their wedding day and after that only the jewels belonging to her husband's family. She could receive jewels as part of her wedding gifts but they would rarely be pieces from her own family.
Royal women, above 18, regardless of their single/ married status can wear a tiara. Also in the UK where Princess Anne, prior to her (first) marriage has worn plenty of tiara's at state events.
I thought unmarried women were not permitted to wear a tiara. Or is this the case in the U.K.?

I've read somewhere that the fringe tiara belongs to Maria Olympia, as it was a christening gift from her grandmother.
