My guess is that the grandson would not have been the child of Victoria but of a younger brother who would probably have been George V as he would have been born during the reign of his uncle George IV.

: King Carl XVI Gustaf is set to break a
: record
: towards the end of April.
:
: Well ... but for the tragic death of his
: father in 1947, His Majesty would not be
: setting such a record, anyway. As it was,
: the Swedish royal succession skipped a
: generation.
:
: Likewise, but for the death of the Duke of
: Kent in 1820 (when his daughter was only
: eight months old), the British royal
: succession would not have passed from uncle
: to niece, later on in 1837. It's anybody's
: guess as to how long an hypothetical King
: Edward VIII (House of Hanover) would have
: reigned, had he survived his older brothers.
: It's also anybody's guess as to whether he
: would have fathered a son to displace his
: daughter in the succession. As it was, fate
: and circumstances placed a young Queen
: Victoria on a throne she would occupy for
: nearly 64 years -- a record until broken in
: 2015 by Queen Elizabeth II.
