I hope the Queen finds comfort in her faith and the close family and friends she has. She also has the sympathy and respect of the Danish people. She may also find some comfort in knowing that Henrik has been spared from a long decline due to his dementia. Whilst all cases are different there can often be a deterioration that can last for years and the changes in behavior and personality can be most distressing to the sufferer and their families.

: Does seem like a select group of very close
: family and courtiers.
: I would have thought nephews and nieces (eg
: the Queen's Sisters' children) would be
: there, especially as the Queen's two Danish
: cousins were but maybe there are too many
: and if they invited one they would have to
: invite them all and their spouses. I imagine
: there may be a large Remembrance Service in
: the future when more people can attend. The
: funeral was very simple and moving. Prince
: Christian seemed very upset again and it was
: very moving to see the Queen, who has
: appeared so composed in public, crying
: during one of the hymns. King Constantine
: looks very frail and it was sad to see him
: struggle the long distance from his car and
: up the steps to the Church.

: I had expected to Norwegian royal couple to
: be
: present as they are close friends, but it
: appears the ceremony is for close family and
: senior courtiers only.
