: Agreed. And I am wondering if a future King
: Frederik will continue the use of Count af
: Montpezat - at least for the main line of
: the family, and any idea (from people
: abroad) that the dynasty should change it's
: name from Glücksborg to Montpezat should be
: put in the grave by this.
That was never an issue.
The times when Edward VII changed the dynasty name to his father's are long gone.
Any intentions the Duke of Edinburgh (and Lord Mounbatten) might have had for changeing the Windsor dynasty name, seem completely put away.
The present king of the Netherlands did not start a von Amsberg dynasty like his mother did not start a Lippe dynasty or his grand-mother a Mecklenburg one.
Henrik is a sad person who could have taken the most of his position but decided to act as a spoiled brat.
He should have known by now where he stands and what is his role.
I'm not sure if that really happened or is just a story but I heard that when he married Pss Margreth, Philip of Edinburgh and Bernhard of Lippe "welcomed" him in their "2 person club" and sort of tutored him and showed him the ropes.
Unfortunately he did not learn from his elder.
