I was on the boards for a brief time last year when I was receiving my initial treatments for IDC, ER+, 1 lymph node involved. I did 4 A/C and 4 Taxol, lumpectomy and auxillary lymph node dissection, and 33 radiation treatments. I finished radiation in July of last year and had first mammogram in August which showed something suspicious. Doctors said not to worry it was probably scar tissue, follow up in 6 months. About 4 months later I could feel the lump. They did a mammogram, ultrasound, and biopsy, which confirmed it was cancer. I had a PET/CT scan done Thursday and will meet with my oncologist and surgeon on Tuesday to see what they recommend, if anything. Has anyone had a recurrence so soon after treatments? What should I expect? More chemo? mastectomy? The tumor was in the same breast as my original cancer so I dont think radiation is an option. I am scared. I'm only 40, with 3 young children. I don't want to die. Could really use some support. Thanks.
