I had a left mastectomy in 2000. Found this wonderful site in 2002. I just heard about a technique called fat grafting where they do a kind of lipo from abdomen and put it into chest. So, after all these years I am once again considering recon. Had my consult this week. He said that they are finding that stem cells from the fat can help soften and heal the radiated skin. He said I am a candidate even tho I have very tight skin. I still have many questions but am excited. It would take 6 or 7 operations on an outpatient basis, every 3 months. I hope you find what is right for you and that this was helpful.
