I had to also switch that recon to lat flap as my skin is very thin and would expand properly.
I now have two similar breasts that are both lat flaps. Given an option I would have had them both done at the same time which would have made them look more alike. I couldn't stand the thought of living with LCIS and going for ultrasounds or mammo's every 6 months until forever or a recurrence. I know there will always be a risk of recurrence to other places but I no longer worry as much as I used to.

Also, when you have a lat flap you usually have to go through expanding since there isn't enough skin to put in an implant at the same time as the orginal surgery. This process can take months.
