When thinking back on Doc Martin and the way he played him, I always think of the storyline when his mother & father show up trying to take advantage of Martin's aunt and the way they treated Martin. Then later, after the father dies and his mother comes back, the way she treated him and her explanation on why she resented him, then when she leaves and ends up taking the clock that Martin has so diligently restored. That was such a tragic story about how Martin grew up to be without emotions and human touch.
