I remember this being at the top of the news and we were all so sad when she died. It was a gallant effort that miserably failed.

When this was happening, I was remembering, when I was a child, a Kathy Fiscus who also fell down a well, but didn't survive. It was such a wonderful relief when the news showed little Jessica McClure coming out of that well carried by one of her rescuers.
