I love 'the rest of the story'. I love Billie Holiday's voice. Her blues had messages that more black people recognized than white people did. She was told she couldn't sing one particular song. It was Strange Fruit. It reminded her of her father...who died because a hospital wouldn't take him as he was dying-because he was black.
