I used a Telex too, HB. I also was a buyer when I worked at a hospital. In my last job, before retiring, I was the only person who ran the office and so I did it all. It was the perfect job to end my working life. I was receptionist, secretary and buyer. I was the office manager and loved it. I still have a desk, PC and a land line right next to me. I just never got out of the habit.

I think I've mentioned it before that I was highly influenced by Ann Sothern's Private Secretary and The Ann Sothern Show. Watching those two shows I started taking typing in the 9th grade, then took the next 3 years of it in high school. Back in the days where there were only manual typewriters until 12th when we had one electric typewriter so each one of us could take a turn on it so we could put that on our resume' when applying for secretarial positions.
