1868 The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was organised in New York City
Several members of my family are Elks as am I. I don't participate any more, but pay my dues each year. Brother and sis-in-law are heavily involved. It's a good organization.

Wow! That's a lot of prisoners. I hope none re-offended.
