1844 Sarah Bernhardt - Legendary stage actress

As a little one, my Rene' was so dramatic at times that her dad started calling her Sarah Bernhardt. I'll have to remember to tell her.

1962 The Cuban Missile Crisis began as President John F. Kennedy disclosed that US spy planes had discovered the existence of Soviet missiles in Cuba. Etc.

I barely remember this on the news. I was so young to even realize just how catastrophic this would have been if it had progressed.
