This tragedy was depicted in one of The Crown's episodes. How horrible and the Royals, save one, Price Phillip was the only one to visit right away. The Queen came several days later. I'm sure she received a lot of criticism over that.

I remember this being such a big news item. The thing I remember most was that Imelda had over 3,000 pairs of shoes in her closet and there were real gold fixtures in the bathrooms. I'm a shoe person, but that many? Geeze.
