Supposedly, there was a "lady in black" who'd visit his grave on the anniversary of his death. I'll have to look it up. I wonder if the last paragraph is true.
Interesting:
Ditra Flame, who said she was the original ''Lady in Black'' who for decades made an annual pilgrimage to leave a rose at the grave of Rudolph Valentino, has died. She was 78 years old.
Miss Flame, who never married, was buried Tuesday in San Jacinto, Calif. Miss Flame, who pronounced her name flah-MAY, died in Ontario, Calif., last week. She was found alone in a house cluttered with Valentino memorabilia.
When she was 14, according to an account Miss Flame told many times, she was deathly ill. Several times Valentino, as a favor to her mother, went to her hospital bedside and placed a red rose in her hand.
''You're not going to die at all,'' he was said to have told her. ''You are going to live for many more years. But one thing for sure, if I die before you do, please come and stay by me because I don't want to be alone.''
