This lasted a long time, didn't it?
1965 Rioting and looting broke out in the predominantly black Watts section of Los Angeles after white police officers arrested a black man suspected of drunk driving. In the week that followed, 34 people were killed and more than 1,000 injured in rioting
First hubs was working at Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Los Angeles when the riots broke out. Everyone was told not to go through the area near where the riots took place. A lot of people would by-pass the freeways at peak times would and go through Watts. Thankfully we didn't live in that direction.
