1980 Peter Sellers, age 54 British actor (Pink Panther movies, The Mouse that Roared, Dr. Strangelove, Whats New Pussycat, The Party, The Prisoner of Zenda, The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu) He died of a heart attack, in London
A true comic genius. While the Pink Panther series had one or two too many sequels I don't think he made anything I didn't enjoy.
