I feel the same way. We've created a monster. Look how 'they' track us on social media.
I ordered diabetic socks from a new company, nothing at all on social media, I saw the ad in a magazine. Before I even got the order, diabetic devices and stockings began putting ads in my FB feed!

And how about the robotic surgeries they are doing? Nope, I sure won't be doing that. I'd rather take a chance that a surgeon may miss something, than have a robot slicing and dicing!
