1931 Jim Jones - US cult leader responsible for the Jonestown Massacre in Guyana in November of 1978

I guess I never did know what this cult was supposed to believe. Does anyone know what they supposedly stood for?

He's in a new series on the Disney Channel based on National treasure. I started watching it because he was in it. He's actually barely seen. The premise of the story is kinda far fetched too. But it's OK if you're bored.
