I was so ga-ga over him when I was a young teen. When rumors started about him being "gay" (not a word used at that time) I wouldn't believe it. He was so manly and good looking, romantic and he'd been married to a woman named Phyllis. Later on, more into the 90s it was almost a done deal that he was. I was so disappointed. He had an awful death.
