I don't really think the weather channel knows where IAN is going once it hits S.Carolina, but shows a northerly path, so y'all may be getting a part of it. If so, hunker down and stay safe. It should be down to a Tropical Depression, but still a lot of rain and wind. Be careful and stay in touch.

Had some small branches down in back but nothing hit the house. However, I just discovered the neighbor's big 2 pines real close to my house and their's had a few rather large branches come down but can't seems to have missed our houses. They've already cut it up. Guess we were both lucky. My stuff will have to just lay where it fell as I am not able to clean it up. I*f I lost any power I was sleeping. My daughter's lost power a couple times and live close to me. I'm safe and have food and power.

Glad all is well Bethie. If I lived closer I would come help Ya out. Call a local Church or the Boy Scouts in Your area and I am sure You can get some help.

I know you would Pappy. With some rain still around it's too wet in some areas. I'm sure eventually, a granddaughter and her BF will take care of it for me. Don't know how I did it all by myself for 13 years until doctors said I had to stop. Been here 16 years so can't complain much. Been blessed.

glad for the update! So glad you are safe. We are getting the clouds and some wind and maybe some rain tonight, but we are good. What an awful storm. At least 65 or more people lost their lives so far and I'm sure there will be more added to this total.
Maybe some of your neighbors will clean up your yard for you.

it hasn't done anything but sprinkle. Wind is very calm. We could sure use some rain. Seemed this summer when there were any storms or just rain it always seemed to miss us. The last year for us is less of a worry since we now have a whole house generator. Recently was on for about an hour and a half because of an accident with pole and wires down. It is loud but who cares when you still have power.

Back in the 80's we were in Sanibel and Captiva Island. Stayed in a house right on the water. I wonder if it is still there. It sure is a mess there now with no way off the island.

How's things today? My daughter's have HS friends that spent lots of time ion my home when they were in school, like adopted kids to me. She was married on the Island and lives in area hit hardest. They (entire family living in area)stayed in their home and have survived but said things are devastating and so much is gone. Their family, some of her her kids, father and herself all live in that same area, all stayed and have survived but the trauma is real. Took a few days for us to find out they were alright, just some home damage but helping out with hospitals and nursing homes they can get to. So many have lost their lives.

Thanks pappy. I think I will be alright if I don't lose power. So far just straight rain and winds picking up a bit but not bad. It will get worse later as rains get heavier and winds pick up as it moves inland. Localized Flooding ans power outages expected in some areas. Praying NO tornado issues or downed trees. Hope Alf and Gale will be alright too. Keeping phone charged and have car charger. Should be alright.... praying!~

yes, it's uncertain right now but it is heading up North. I saw this morning that Beth might be in that cone of possibility. It's heading closer to her and seems this thing has a mind of its own.
This has been a disaster of epic proportions!
I always wanted to move to Panama City Beach in my younger years, but I think I'll stay right where I am. Too much drama living on the beach or on any coastal area for me. It's beautiful but I don't need the drama. Panama City was spared this time around. Sanibel Island is pretty much destroyed. My prayers are with all of Fla and anyone in its path right now.
