I'm so grateful that so far Laura's path will spare MS mostly except some surge. I just pray is doesn't change course as it's now expected to become a Cat 4, surges up to 15 feet in LA and TX Coast lines with some along MS Coast. Like Pappy said, I worry about the spawn of tornadoes as well as major flooding in some areas.

How far it comes inland and possible heavy rains and tornadoes worries me too. MK and others in that path, please be careful. We had so much damage in NC from Isila (sp) with beach and inland mostly from high winds and massive tornadoes.

yes. and they are now saying the storm surge is "unserviveable ". Hope everyone heeds the warnings and moves on out. This has been a disasterous year ! And like you said Beth, they are saying it will probably become a Cat 4 before it comes on shore. They are also saying the storm surge could rise to over 20 ft. I can't even imagine that.

Indeed, it hit Cat 4 and just 7 short of a Cat 5 so really no difference, a really bad hurricane. I cannot believe the 150+ people stayed endangering their lives and those first responders they might need if still alive. Guess we will find out how they did in the coming days.Pray they survived their stupidity.

According to the path of Laura after landfall it is tracking up through Arkansas, Tenn, and into N.C. and Virginia, so Y'all may want to start keeping an eye out for some weather news. Looks like it is being spread out pretty far. Take cover and we will check in with y'all later in the week.

Indeed Pappy, we must keep an eye on the path as it goes inland and turns East. I worry about massive tornado outbreaks for those in the path. So far they are saying we might get a little rain here but not much if it stays on the path outlines. We know things can change. Our HEAT it going to be in the high 90's and index in the low 100's and humidity very high. That's soup for storms and tornadoes. It's HOT and HUMID here!!

Yup, they keep changing the path. If it comes over me they are saying it will be just a bit of rain but if it's still packing tropical winds it can spawn tornadoes. Keeping an eye on this sucker.

I know you have experience in these huricanes Pap but move to higher ground if it gets too bad
