She was born October 7, 1956 in Midland, Tx. She grew up in McCamey, Tx and graduated from McCamey High School in 1975. She later moved to Ft Worth to attend Texas Wesleyan University. Julie later moved to San Angelo, Texas and then to Colorado Springs, Co.
She is survived by her husband David Carver, her daughter Traci Goodwin both of Colorado Springs, her daughter Sarah Goodwin, husband Brandon Lee and Julie’s beloved granddaughter Krystal of Denver, Colorado. Julie’s parents are E.L. and Mary Martin of Hobbs, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary. She is also survived by brothers Richard Martin and Emmett Martin and his partner, Steve White, of Hobbs, New Mexico.
Julie enjoyed her volunteer work in the Food Pantry at her church. She will be remembered by family and friends most for her kindness and constant giving to others. Just as Julie gave in life she also gave in her death by being an organ donor. Her donation helped save the lives of four people in need and helped 60 others. Her donation will also offer the gift of life far more through research efforts as well.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sat, September 27, 2008 at the Trinity Methodist Church of Colorado Springs, Co. Family and friends will gather following the services.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
