Do you all think with challinor gone the prospect of Barry , Tanto , stokes won’t be back ? Would love us to sign stokes and also Barry but I know it won’t happen Tanto please no

Not sure about Stokes. IMHO he looked nothing special when he first came, then improved later. At fault for 1st Luton goal at Wembley and disappeared v Bolton in the play-off final.
Tanto is an enigma. It took him most of that first season with us to get going, then in the second season he really took off. Is it lack of confidence, lack of game time at Charlton or has his form simply tailed off.
Signing Louie on loan would again be a risk, given his injury prone career to date. He was never fully fit for us this time around. I genuinely don’t know if it would be a risk worth taking.
A damp squib at Wembley too.

In my opinion you are spot on with Tanto and confidence. He actually played pretty well but has got slated because he didn't automatically just fill the net every game. Pretty obvious he is a player who thrives when he is feeling happy and can just play the game carefree.

Stokes only looked good in patches.

Tanto has lost something.

Barry needs a good pre-season, injury free.

I'd be stunned if Barry's back; wouldn't be surprised if he finally makes a permanent move away from Villa.

Did Barry sign for county or DC ? I think he loves our club - it’s the only club where he has had any success and I fully expect him to join county again on a season long loan deal - maybe !!!

Problem with buying a Louie Barry is that with all the add ons with the deal he is never 100% yours because you never stop paying for him. The better he does the more additional dosh it costs, right up to part of the fee if/when you sell him on. Why developing players is crucial to sustainability.

Had we gone up then I could have seen a loan deal but now we're staying in League One, the finances involved are too vast.

That unique deal we struck in January for him won't happen again; Villa would want his wages covering for the entire season, which would be about £1.8m. Even if we only pay half of them it's still close to £1m.
