Blackburn forum seem to think so …..has done an absolute fantastic job in Stockport and will be very difficult to replace …like Gannon he bled blue ….I guess that leaves an opening for Pep to show how good a manager he really is

He has been a fantastic successful manager for County. Who has done a great job. But he is clever and experienced enough to divorce himself from the emotion of a club and its fans.

Spot on Rusty. He never bled blue as a player or Manager for us.

He called us tawts once, and what he said about our fans in the pen shoot out v Orient was unforgivable.

"I'll get my little rant out the way first. My biggest disappointment is watching people walk out the stadium when it's 3-1 and giving up. And I've not said it all through the season, but I've seen that throughout the course of the season, people walking out when these players have given everything and got themselves into a really good position. And there's nothing... if the players gave up with 5 minutes to go, we wouldn't be in the position that we are. So, that's the biggest disappointment tonight.

I don't see how he could see any exit gates from the dugout. He probably saw fans moving towards the exits. Like mentioned in the thread, I move to the gates with 5mins to go, but wait for the final whistle, as do many others.

Personally I wouldn't walk out of any game if there's a chance we could win.

But he mentions supporters leaving before end of games during the season. I wouldn't know, but did this happen? He obviously thought so and it annoyed him.

Leaving during a penalty shootout at the stage he mentions is very defeatist.

Were people walking out at that stage?

I can definitely understand his annoyance if that was the case.

People have different views and rituals.. don't know why but I always leave my seat with 5 mins to go and watch from the exit gate.. each to thier own I say.. we pay our money

People do filter out early at most home games (almost never at aways) but I don't think that's exclusive to us.

The point where people left for the Orient game was after Rydel missed our third penalty leaving us 3-1 down after 3 penalties each, meaning Orient just had to score to go through.

I get why people felt it was over at that point; I knew it was too, although I stayed until the players were down the tunnel. I understand Challinor's frustration too, as the players had worked hard all season to get to that point and probably deserved recognition from the crowd.

It was a rough night for everyone involved and emotions were high, so I can understand his reaction.

He gave his all while he was here. Isn’t that enough?
A perfectionist and like all perfectionists doomed to fail.
As for the Orient game, he was right to have a go at those who left early. What a bunch of sensitive snowflakes we have become if we can’t take a bit of criticism after giving it out in spades.

Speaking for myself, it'll always be hard to replace a serial winner - whether that's in the form of league titles or securing play-off places as a minimum.

Challinor will depart as the man who got County back into the EFL, with two league titles to his name. Two play-off final appearances, a Trophy final appearance and one play-off semi-final finish. Successive third place finishes in League One, and has never finished below fourth in five years with the club.

A campaign of real adversity (with injuries etc) at times for club and manager, but both now look set for a fresh start. More to follow in the coming days."

Surely that'd only be the case is he's sacked?

If both parties agree to terminate his contract, I'd be surprised if either party are due financial recompense.

Correct. Nothing has been announced yet. Sounds like it might be a mutual agreement. I suspect Chally would only do that if he knew he had something lined up. If we get wind he’s off to Blackburn we might hold out for compo.

They are delighted with the news the DC has parted company with county and they are ready to welcome him as their new coach / manager
