Out for the rest of the year with a hamstring injury which requires surgery.

Was he any worse than the rest of the sick notes we have at the club still,at least he's played for us,some haven't yet,and some have very few minutes for us,call one call the rest of the sick notes

In Bungle's defence, his point is that it's unfair to target Powell for criticism for persistent injury issues when others with similar issues aren't criticised in the same way.

It is unfair to criticise anybody for being injury prone, I very much doubt anybody would purposely tear their hamstring to avoid playing. It is just that some bodies can’t cope with the modern game, it’s akin to some bodies being able to fight off certain illnesses where others can’t

Yes and no; I think it's fair to be critical of a player's availability, as it can hamper the team but when it crosses the line and is made out to be the fault of the player (who is probably more frustrated than anyone elsel and devolves into calling them 'sick note' etc, it becomes unfair.

My point exactly, calling them sick note is derogatory, call them unlucky with injuries injury prone etc is a better way to describe them

Don't players have medicals before they sign for a new club?

I have to have a medical for my company to work at certain sites. They're done by physios and designed to take your body to 80% of what's expected.

Bradford need to take a good look at Powell's results.

Just be glad it's not us paying for it anymore. Given that he allegedly doesn't love the game, I wouldn't be surprised if he considered retiring.

He was a gamble signing. No surprise to hear this but we can only wish him well..he's no doubt more brassed off then anyone ..

I think that's a good point.

I understand the frustration and the 'sick note' jibes, but if you're Nick Powell and you want to be playing football but your body is letting you down, it must be incredibly difficult to come to terms with, especially at his age when he knows he's not got that much time left at a professional level.
