If you missed what I wrote before the game yesterday, here’s a snippet: “On the afternoon of a game, I probably shouldn’t joke about referring to Bradford as County Reserves. But as County fans we’ve become so accustomed to the propensity of former players returning to haunt us that we’re all resigned to at least one of our former Hatters giving us a kick in the knackers tonight. Nick Powell’s just moved to Valley Parade, but not in time to be cleared to play this evening. Neill Byrne’s injured. But that still leaves Ibby Touray and Antoni Sarcevic to contend with.”
I knew at least one of our former title-winners would give us a headache last night. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Sarcevic smashed home Bradford’s winner at the Railway End. However, I didn’t envisage County falling apart in the manner they did. Just three days after chucking away a half-time lead at Leyton Orient, we did it again. Dave Challinor’s men were brilliant in the first half, and I’m still scratching my head at how we capitulated after the break. Photos today; post-mortem tomorrow.
