I think our second goal last night should be awarded to Wootton - his effort would have found the net even it had not deflected off the defender so it was his goal - just like the first goal took a deflection on the way in

Can’t deny that the defender got the final touch but Wootton got the vital first touch touch which would have resulted in a goal - so not an OG for me

It's who touches the ball last, not first unfortunately.

Reminds me of the Saint and Greavesie show on tv many years ago. Paul Mariner for Ipswich was trying to claim a goal that took three deflections on the way in.

It's if the ball wasn't on target, but the deflection puts it on target.
If a shot is on target and deflects in, it isn't an own goal

Shame I thought it was his goal. Would have been a good confidence boost for him. Tanto with a good assist. Think he also setup a good opportunity for Diamond.

Woots had a golden opportunity to score with his head. Easy chance for him.
