Ian Sandiford RIP

Sad news indeed. Many great memories of Ian, none more so than his winning goal against Bristol Rovers in the greatest ever game seen at Edgeley Park.

It was great to see him and the rest of the 'Fantastico' team when they came back for a reunion of the 64/65 season.

Rest in peace Ian.

Yes sad news indeed
I can still remember being on the front row of the old Cheadle end and watching as Ian’s late header sailed into the corner of the net to win the game and earn us the fantastic trip to Anfield and the historic 1-1 draw
I also remember seeing Ian score a wonderful diving header at Brighton - ok we lost the game but the trip home was made so must better with the memory of Ian’s goal

He gave his all, everytime he played. His winning goal to earn the tie against Liverpool will live in my memory. I was in the Railway End on a lovely evening. RIP Ian.

Although my memory is generally lacking nowadays, I clearly remember Ian’s goal as I made my way from the Pop side towards the exit.

NevadaH. If he hadn’t scored there would have been 30 minutes of extra time, which you may have missed unless you realised in time, before you departed.
