Ok County family.I’ve kept my head below the sofa but I’m leaning toward Bungle’s assessment regarding Wootten.I really don’t want to give any County player grief but come on in all my years I have never seen a target man that can’t score a goal from outside the 6yard box,it’s ridiculous.Sorry

Bungle and you Steve are allowed to say this. The defence of Woots is impressive by our fans. I agree we should back our lads to the hilt. However he offers zero threat and we’re heavily relying on Tants to score the goals. Yes I do understand that he can hold the ball up well but we need better at the moment from Woots. I think we’ll need Breki to play more minutes and score the goals that get us into the play offs.

Wootton and Olaofe have scored the same number of league goals this season.

Wootton has 4 more assists.

Tanto has played nowhere near as many minutes as Woots

Wootton has played 2,935 minutes and Olaofe has played 1,740.

We've done this several times before though; they aren't there to do the same job within the system we play. If they were, they wouldn't play together, we'd play one or the other.

Nobody is saying Wootton couldn't and shouldn't be scoring more, but to reduce what he brings to just goals scored is too simplistic to fairly judge it.

I am of the opinion we need better than Wootton. Yes I do appreciate his hold up play but sometimes he gets into wrestling fights and doesn’t do that job . He's gone flat and doesn’t offer a goal threat. 2 goals in 25 for someone playing so high up the pitch is not good enough. I also think Collar needs to step up as well. His goals have dried up. Last season it was Madden who stepped up and it was his goals that got us over the line.

I fear we don’t have someone who’s going to do that this season.

Me too. Whichever division we are in next season, I can see quite an overhaul of the squad. 8-10 out and maybe 6-8 in. We carried a large squad this season (Chally’s view in an interview), so can see us running with one or two less.

True. I remember going to. All for him with Vic Vomit, Smally, possibly Mouse and Billy. His Dad was outside washing his car. As we approached, the question went round, does anyone know Oaf’s real name? We didn’t so settled on asking his Dad, ‘Is Oaf in?’

He knew who we meant and shouted up ‘Andrew!’ And that is how I know he was first named Andrew by his biological family before being renamed by the County family.

Not sure who gave him that moniker but my money is on the Good Vicar late of this parish.
