Lovely bloke too. A rare breed back then in that he seemed educated, sensible and respected others. A lot of players from that era were quite frankly a disgrace to the profession in that they didn’t take the game seriously, could get hammered after training every day and were above any discipline you would get in other employment. We were lucky to have Malcolm - a level head in the side.
It would be great if we could track him down and get him on the pitch at half time with Steve Bellis.

Last I heard he lived in Droylsden He was a wonderful driving instructor and got my two nephews through their test first time - your assessment of him is spot on - a true gent I well remember his goal of the season against Rochdale at EP

He scored the winner against Halifax in my first ever game back in 1981. Alway a fave of mine.
