Being the meticulous planner I am have just looked at train travel to Bolton on 15th March. Was hoping to get a train from Stalybridge to Bolton then a short trip to Horwich but alas seems like there is engineering work that weekend and it’s a bus replacement service. Anyone travelling from Stockport checked this out yet? The Wigan game was a blast on the train and there were plenty travelling that way so if can’t get there by Choo choo it’ll be a right pisser!
It's a rail replacement bus service to and from Bolton. You can get a bus from W#nkchester to Bolton from Shudehill bus station No. 8. Bolton to Horwich not too far from the ground No. 575/576.Work is the curse of the drinking classes.
Only way round it seems to be train to Wigan, then Leyland and then Horwich. Looked at the cost of an Uber,4 from Hadfield/Glossop border works out about 8.60 each one way * depends of course on surge pricing etc at the time. Seems the best way for us exiles. The beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert.
