Tanto injury was due to a kick on the shins. Chally is not happy about the shinpads. Not surprised, normally a kick on the shins usually makes sure you wear the correct ones. Players fined going forward I suggest. Can’t afford anymore injuries.
I agree with DC that the cheap foul that Wootton gave away cost us. At the time their player was running away from our penalty area .
We need to eliminate some of the daft fouls that we give away, oh and goals that we give away. Bailey must be directly responsible for giving away at least three goals this season
And the shin pads scandal? I thought we'd have learned from that with Mellon earlier in the season. It signalled the start of the end for his time with us.
First of all, it looked very much like a hamstring injury the way he pulled up. Then as he sat on the ground awaiting treatment, he grabbed his 'shin pad' which was about the size of a large postage stamp and threw it into the ground in frustration much to the amusement of the Reading crowd.
I do find it odd that there are a lot of players around these days who play with their socks 'rolled down'. Maybe Chally, rather than just talk about it, should seek a solution within the dressing room to this behaviour.The older I get the better I was.
