The following are doing the rounds as speculation, not from the club.

Luke Thomas 25 Bristol Rovers Midfielder
Gabriel Schluter 16 Blackpool Midfielder
Ethan Wheatley 18 Manchester United Striker
Nathan Lowe 19 Stoke City Striker
James Berry 24 Chesterfield Striker

Personally l feel we need better quality if we are keen to challenge for promotion this season and next, unless all but Thomas are for the emerging talent squad, although Lowe is on loan at Walsall and is their top goalscorer so far.

If we had a centre forward who had scored a dozen or more goals so far this season then we'd be in a top three position

To be honest, it might be better we got the ground upgraded whilst we were in this division.

Wish the planning permission would get granted we were told work would start in January. Wish the council would hurry up with this and announce they are helping to fund the new stands. Plenty of other clubs get financial help from their local council so why not us.

It won’t get granted until it’s formally submitted and that hasn’t happened yet.

All councils are skinto maginto- absolutely no chance they are going to prioritise a couple of new stands over their statutory obligations to provide services.

Salford Council has just paid £7.7 million to secure the AJ Bell stadium to ensure its use for Salford Red Devils RL and Sale Sharks.

It’s Council investment in a community asset, gaining full ownership of ground and land around it.
They didn’t have to do it.
It also killed off as I understand Sale Sharks and Salford City’s interest in the ground which would have meant Salford RL playing at the football ground and losing Super League status.
It was after all originally built for the Rugby League club.

Stockport Council didn't have to buy EP either, but they did it for the same reason.

That's a very different thing to funding the club's choice to expand the stadium.

Because purchasing the ground to ensure it is used for its original intention (and not sold off for the land; something Stockport Council themselves did for EP) isn't the same as the council footing the bill for the club's choice to expand that ground.
