Wife used to work at Bukta Sports.
Remember them?

Christy & Co. on Hillgate. I worked there as a Christmas temp in 1995. John Euston used to work there as well.

Did my apprenticeship with Simon Engineering, then worked at Simon Carves for @10 years on & off.

I think they are still going, but probably foreign-owned these days.

Used to be a huge company with offices all over the world.

Exors of James Mills Steel (Bredbury Steelworks),started work there at age 16 alongside fellow County supporter Ian Aitchison (RIP). Great place to work!

Went onto a bricklaying career...a great lad, sadly had a stroke in his mid-thirties and never really recovered. A Brinny boy from Blackberry Lane.

His mum worked at the Cheshire Cat chippy. She gave me and Aitchy free meals at school dinner times.We made a band up, me, Aitchy, Billy Needham (I think),and somebody else. We used to practice in his front room. As you said, great memories.

Served my time at without doubt the best ever Engineering Factory in Stockport. David McClure Ltd, The Mersey Dynamo Works,Range rd. The best ever ?? Yep,you looked out of the window, across the tracks to the Scoreboard end !!
