Heard quite a few people in the CE chatting about the potential of the game being postponed due to international call-ups. I've just been through both squads and can only see 2 per team that could receive call-ups. Anyone know a definitive?
Nobody will know definitively until the international squads are announced and that also assumes the U21 teams have matches scheduled, but it's almost certainly not going to be from our side.
The international window officially begins on 11 November.
Touray will likely be called up so he'll count towards the numbers.
Corey is eligible for Jamaica but hasn't been involved so it seems unlikely now.
The other three who would potentially be involved would be Fiorini, Mellon and Adaramola. All 3 woukd be in U21 squads and for them to count for the purposes of postponing a game, they have either atarted 3 out of the 5 games prior to the international break or 25% of all games.
Assuming the 'last 5 games' only apply to league games, the last 5 before the window are:
Adaramola and Mellon have started 0 of the already played games, so cannot qualify in the '3 out of the last 5 games' criteria, whereas Fiorini has started 1, so would have to start against both Wycombe and Bolton to count.
If the 'last 5 games' actually does include all competitions, then the last 5 before the window would be:
Lincoln (already played) Reading (already played) Forest Green Wycombe Bolton
To qualify, Adaramola and Mellon would both have to start all 3 of the unplayed games and Fiorini would have to start 2 of the 3.
If you look at the alternative '25% of all games' criteria, basing it just off league games, we'll have played 15 by the start of the window, so they'd have to have started 3.75 league games.
Adaramola and Fiorini have both started 3 so would qualify with 1 more league start each.
Mellon has started 0, so cannot qualify.
If it's worked out on overall games played, we'll have played 19 games by the start of the window, so 4.75 starts would be needed.
Adaramola has 3 starts in all competitions so would need to start 2 of the remaining games before the window.
Fiorini has 4 starts in all competitions so would need 1 more start.
Mellon has 0 starts in all competitions so again can't qualify this way.
Bear in mind too, that Fiorini is only eligible for Scotland U21 until the next Euros in the summer, which they haven't qualified for, so there's seemingly little point in calling him up anyway.
So it's highly unlikely a postponement is coming from our side, but not completely impossible.
