Bye bye Carsley?

I am agnostic as to whether Carsley remains England manager permanently. Can see various arguments in favour and against. However, the FA have been a bit cowardly and hedged their bets with Carsley with the caretaker bit.

They should have come out and backed him and given him a contract if they believe in him. I suspect that the pelters for losing at home to Greece will have done for LC as FA haven’t got the cojones to withstand the flak.

One bad result doesn't make him a bad manager. He did win the U-21 Euros.

Southgate was only an interim manager before they sadly gave him the job full time.

We don't need a stop gap, we need an experienced man manager and motivator this time around to get the maximum out of a very impressive number of top quality individual players.

Yeah, sadly we got further in tournaments under him than under any other manager in history, bar one. Terrible appointment.

He didn't deliver the quality of performance or results that the squad could have delivered. He had his favourites and they failed.

He was sacked for a reason. We shouldn't have to tolerate mediocrity.

No, I am highlighting your inability to accept how things work in the real world.

Have you ever had to sack somebody for underperforming? I have.

You have to position it, and leave them with some dignity so that it doesn't break them.

You can be of the opinion that he was going to be sacked, but that is simply an opinion. My opinion is that he'd have resigned at the end of the tournament regardless of the outcome.

What isn't an opinion is that he was not sacked. That is a fact and to say otherwise means you are wrong.

You thinking he resigned to avoid being sacked is an opinion, as is mine that he was going to resign regardless.

It's fine to hold the opinion, but not to portray it as fact.

Wrong squad and wrong team selection and tactics. Apart from that he was mediocre at best.
