Keeper choice

As much as we all love Ben - you have to admit that Corey has made a very impressive start to the season
No goals conceded and his distribution is first class if not a little risky at times -
Ben can be erratic with his kicking but Corey is so accurate- he seems to find Woots so consistently and to great effect
Not at all saying Ben is finished as I’m sure he will be going all out to win back his spot in the middle of our goal - he didn’t get the number 1 shirt for no reason

We've done this to death, but Challinor could have put Jaros back in at any point when he was fit again in late December/early January, yet he sat on the bench for the rest of the season whilst Ben kept his place and kept it all last season too.

Just asking who you think is the better keeper. Jordan Smith wasn't given a chance either, with forty odd Championship games under his belt.

Ben didn't have the number 1 shirt just because Jaros was injured, he'd had it for the vast majority of the last 8 years and has seen off all competition for it in that time.

He had it because he earned it.

And, as I've said many times, Jaros was fit 5/6 weeks later, yet couldn't earn his place back from Ben.

Why didn't Challinor put Jaros back in?

If Challinor didn't think Ben was the best option, he wouldn't have continued to played him and would have put Jaros back in at the earliest opportunity.

I'd have gone with Ben, as there was no reason to drop him, however I'm happy with Addai too. They're both great goalkeepers; the two best in League Two last season.

Which is probably an inferior standard to our current level. Plus he hasn't played a single one of their three games so far this season so he's clearly seen as no better than a backup there either.

Our manager who has won two league titles with us saw him in training every day and decided Ben was better, that's the long and short of it.

I can understand the love-in for a County keeper with three Champions medals and most appearances as a keeper for County.

I can't understand why you always feel the need to put him down.

I never put him down, but unlike you and a couple others on here, he can't do any wrong and never has down. When he makes a blooper, it's always someone else's fault.

I agree. I like the fact that he comes off his line to challenge for the ball when it's coming into our box. He seems to be a pretty good shot stopper as well.

We have probably got two of the best keepers in the division, early to say yet as Corey only had 2 shots to save last week, one of which was caused by his bad ball out, and Blackpool had none on target on Saturday , i reckon he will give a few of us oldies heart attacks before the end of the season, and i will put him down now for 4 occasions at least where the fannying around costs a goal.

I am a great fan of the expression fannying around - as my kids will testify it generally comes with the word ‘stop’ in front of it.

However, we have a clear plan for how to play and the big feller has obviously been identified as the man to do the job - and we spent money to get him IIRC.

Yes, there will be dodgy moments but looking at it in the round, we will be well served IMVHO
