Living in Brum, our local ITV news is Central, and they have just had a feature on football kit prices. It gave a breakdown of costs of a shirt costing £80
£26.40 Retailer £23.47 Manufacturer £13.33 VAT £8.00 Cost to make £4.80 Football club £4.00 UK distribution + marketing
I'd expected that a club would have only made a small fraction of the overall sale but you'd like to think it should have been higher.

In the 90s, County banned sales of their shirts within a certain radius of EP - that now makes sense, as looking at those figures, they would make over £30 on each £80 shirt sold in the club shop.
My then girlfriend ran her Dad's company, who sewed County shirts together, with the material provided. They received the princely sum of £1 per shirt!
Hopefully it will be a long time before County shirts cost £80!"I love them boys!"
