Don’t understand why we don’t push a forward on the edge of the opponent’s penalty area from our goal kick.We have to be way smarter this season

Because all the opposition have to do is not drop a defender back to mark them and they'd be offside every single time.

😂😂😂 Also ,whoever is in goal,instead of just lumping it forward to go straight out of play and give the opponent control of the game.Aim it short of the corner flag so we can pen them in.Just a thought.

Ben has been a great keeper overall for us.

Personally I believe that he stands rooted to his goal line when the ball is crossed into the six yard box. Anything in there he should be competing for.

His kicking is something that Dave Challinor has mentioned in the past. It's OK, sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's poor.

I suspect that he will be on the bench on Saturday, but who knows.

That means nothing statistically unless you give saves made per shots at goal percentages.
Addai is a cracking keeper, I’m just not a fan of passing about around the penalty area. Costs goals at the top level.Even more at lower levels where players are less skilful.

To me it's a ridiculous thing to be doing.

Never understood the logic behind it.

I thought the object of the game was to get the ball 120yards or so up field, in between the goalposts

A keeper passing the ball a few yards to his right or left, still leaves you with a 100 yards to go

Don't know what uncle Brian would have made of the game today

The logic behind it is supposedly you retain possession more with the short quick pass and move game. Takes longer to get the ball upfield, but gives better chance percentage.

With the big punt up field, the kicking team have around a 60/40 chance of retaining possession.

However, when the short passes out fooks up, it inevitably leads to a goal for the opposition.

Personally, I'm an old traditionalist and prefer the long hoofs as the current tippy-tappy reminds me of that youthful Crewe team of the 90s under dodgy Dario.

Agree, definitely looks a class keeper but I was on pins the 3 times he almost cost us a goal, good job it wasn't Ben or a certain poster on here would've had a field day.
