Just back home after the 90 minute club tour. Worth every penny. Steve Bellis is just a great ambassador for the club a true gentleman. Although he has already done quite a few he acted like it was his first, fantastic guy.
A few facts: He started with Danny statue, he is always asked "was Danny only that tall" yes its true measure of his height.
He then took us to the Cheadle end where he outlined the future plans for the upgrade of the capacity.
The work being carried out under the Cheadle end is immense, there were at least 75 workers refitting everything under there, the away changing room was no where near finished, they are working through the night to get it finished for the game tomorrow.
The managers office, what a dump, you go down 5 or 6 steps into the darkest dingiest room you will ever see, small no windows and stinks. Under renovation at present.
They just finished the LCD advertising hoardings around the pitch, they look great!
There is a wall underneath with every single player on there who has ever played for County about 1400.
Went to the players changing room sat on what was Paddy's seat, of course selfie taken. The Porche suite is very plush, its where Mark and his family go at half time, his invited guests pay £3,500 to go in there, they get a meal but drinks are extra!!
Steve told many anecdotes over the years, plenty about Danny and Jim Gannon, very interesting
The pitch looks just amazing, you cant take your eyes of it its that good.
Went to the refs room, there is a hidden bell which he or she presses to let the teams know when to go out to the pitch.
Overall a very rewarding experience, you get to take a photo with the trophy, over £17000 raised on its tour around the pubs and clubs towards kits apparently. Having been a supporter for the best part of 68 years it was just great.
Forgot to add, Fylde are the only clubs directors not to accept the clubs hospitality. They refuse to enter the directors lounge, they go off site, get pissed, sit in their seats and abuse the fans. Sometimes I wake up grumpy, sometimes I leave her in bed.
I'll have to thank my son-in-law and daughter once again for bidding in a charity auction for four of us to go in what is now the Porsche Suite for a game some time ago.
It really was excellent quality.
Steve Bellis's face was a picture when he walked in there and saw us
He did ask how we'd managed to get in there and when I told him, he said she must love me
Apparently Mark loves two things in life, wine and cars, he slung the wine as soon as he arrived.Sometimes I wake up grumpy, sometimes I leave her in bed.
