Back in the sixties and seventies my Dad was the County bookie. Quite a few players had credit accounts and visited his office in Portwood. If Trevor Porteous said they were good for it then they were approved

When I spoke to my dad on the phone, I passed on the sad news that it had been reported that Johnnie Price had died, his snappy reply was "did they mention the tenner that he still owes me"

Sacrilege I know, but I think Ben might be bench warming early doors. I agree with you that Powell might not be with us. It's a big squad with lots of starters from last season maybe struggling to get in the starting eleven.

Ben must start for me.
A. His performances last season merit him playing.
B. We need to keep as much continuity from last season as we can. Hinchliffe, Horsefall and Pye work well as a unit. No need to change

DC and SW have brought in several new players to improve the quality of the squad for this season.

If they're fit I'd expect all the new players to be in the starting eleven.

It's 7 for us currently, although if/when we go up to the Championship, it'll be 9 subs named.

If Rydel and Olaofe are out I'd move Pye to leftback and have Hughes alongside Horsfall, with Mellon replacing Tanto.

Also have a feeling Powell won't be with us by the start of the season.
