They have had a good look at him TBF. Obviously a few on that retained list won’t be with us. Quigley and Ross will be loaned out I would take as a given (outside chance of Quigs filling in for Woots at start of the season but hopefully we can get better).

Hopefully, we will do our business early. With the size of the backroom team we have, you’d think everything is lined up and ready to go.

I think the backroom staff needs needs thinning out.
We seem to employ an exorbitant number of people for our current status.
It would be interesting to know how many people both full time, contracted in, and part time we actually employ.

Just leave things to Mr Stott. If he couldn't afford them all, they wouldn't be here.

Although it isn't about having staff for our current status, it is about behaving like a Championship club and ensuring every aspect of what we do has that mindset so that when it does eventually happen we won't need a recruitment drive by the seat of our pants....

We are not receiving the £millions extra EFL money for being in the Championship.
I thought the idea was to be self sufficient in time.

True but we know we're not poor either. I'd hate for us to get there and it come as a seismic shock to every aspect of the club. Mr Stott didn't become a multi millionaire by being crap with money so if he felt County was wasting any he'd act quick enough.

Maybe the point you rightly make about self sufficiency is one that could be asked at the next fans forum whenever that is. It is okay saying self sufficient but does that mean self sufficient as a League Two club or something else...

Not something the club is obliged to tell us but something that would help fans understand certain things, like the very thing that started our discussion - size of staff for where we are.

You could ask what have all these additional back room staff (of a Championship standard club) achieved so far? Were we one of the fittest, fastest or healthiest squads in the league?

Off the pitch the investment from Mark Stott has been remarkable. The ground has been completely transformed. Everything that has been done has been completed to a very high standard.

Yes and you could, should and probably will ask that question. And you are right about the investment from Mr Stott - I rightly feared for a long time we would have to move from EP and so to see the loving care the old girl has received since he has been here gives me goose bumps.

However one thing about the general debate, it started about all the staff employed at EP, as in everyone.

You - quite understandably - have just made it about the staff that support the players.

They are two separate debates.

Which includes all of the catering staff that a lot of clubs contract out.
